The first ammendment does not protect child abuse, and teaching children racism or any other kind of prejudice - homophobia, anti-Semetism, misogyny, misandry, discrimination of age or orientation and so forth - is child abuse. It's psychological child abuse.

Please tell me oh wise and lawful Auteur how this particular internet blog is abusing the psychological well being of children? Parents should be monitoring their children on the internet and even exposure is not abuse. If a parent were to show their children pornography it is not abuse.

Funny how this "newspaper" sees it it fit to have an article written about a silly blog. By its nature, a public blog is open to everybody who has an internet connection. As any Viner knows, any outrageous statements can be posted.

Why this rag that pretends itself to be a newspaper covers only the incendiary remarks on conservative blogs but completely ignores liberal ones can be answered by two words: liberal bias.

It got to the point where I went to the GARDENING site looking for something to read. Last week there were so many rabid rightwing posts up I was wondering if they had passed over me to let me know this was no longer a forum for ALL people. That's on top of the many civil, thoughtful conservative threads. Couldn't open a thread without Obama bashing, Atheist bashing, liberal bashing, democrat bashing, pro life bashing, Obama's foreign policy bashing, Obama's economy bashing - on and on. A lot of conservatives on this site don't know how to present their opinion without coming out of the blocks in full ""attack tear down and discredit the liberals" mode. And for the most part NV doesn't choose what is covered, the many members of NV community do, so if you don't like what you are reading why don't you write an article, or seed one. The reason mavrick insists it's about Willow, not Bristol, is because if he admits he knew Letterman was directing the joke at Bristol, then he wouldn't have point.

Yes it does matter which daughter the joke was about. One is an innocent young girl. The other is an unwed teen-aged mother whose own mother painted a target on her back by parading her out with her redneck fiancee in the national spotlight...all for votes. Then, when she herself could have slipped back out of the public eye, Bristol herself re-painted that same target by becoming a national spokesperson for, of all things, abstinence only. What an effing joke! Her actions begged to be made fun of by comedians and I have not even a tiny bit of sympathy for her. If she can't run with the big dogs, then she needs to keep her ass on the porch. It was her choice to draw attention to herself and she should not have been surprised that she got it. Bristol is an adult, she joins Chelsea Clinton who was the brunt of John McCain's jokes at a republican dinner when she was 18, The Johnson daughters who were young adults when Johnny Carson used to make fun at their expense, Amy Carter who was ridiculed for her looks as a youngster and into adulthood, the Bush daughters (over 18) who were hounded until the Bushes said enough. Except for Amy once the "kids" turn 18 they have been fair game, children have not. Why should Palin's adult children be different? If you think that racism is old and of no effect - you either extremely undereducated, too young to have experience what this country went to in order to rid this country of bigotry and racism.....the lives that were lost - of all colors and nationalities - or simply just not too bright over all.

Grow up child and if you don't know anyone to ask - look up the past history of racism in America for even just the past 50 years. When was the first black American allowed to vote? When were black Americans allowed to enter thru the front door of any business and be served or assisted just as any white person would be? Who was the first black female - or either sex for that matter - who refused to get up and give her seat on the public transportation bus to a white person? Most of these events happened in less than fifty years ago!
