Great list.

I am familiar with about half of the list.  Take the time to check out the videos...they are thought-provoking and insightful.

"Remarkably, this season's discovery isn't a glossy matinee idol or a smooth-talking partisan hack but a PhD Rhodes scholar lesbian policy wonk who started as a prison AIDS activist." Maddow has done the unthinkable, she's made being sophisticated and liberal a good thing.

She is #1 on my list.

She is # 1 on my 'list', too.  BTW not to sound like a teenage fan but, how do you like the new hair cut she is sporting?

LOL!!!!  OMG, I am, like, so psyched that you asked.  ;)

I did not think it was all that flattering.  I don't think it was a new cut, but, a new styling.  My first question was, hmmmm...who did her hair today?  I prefer the previous style.  How about you?

Actually I liked it and thought that it softened her features.  Her mind is sharp enough!

Now THERE was a difference!  Not sure what planet she was from but she won't be on any-body's 10 Top Intellectuals list.  Ever.

I've only heard of 2 of these people, they seem like the kind of people that would get seeded here a lot.

The only ones I know much about are Rachel Maddow (obviously - I'm addicted to her show!) and Chris Hayes.  I am looking forward to learning more about the others on this list.

H-Chick, I am not usually given to self depredation but REALLY! these 'kids' make me feel like a slacker.  What a great mind-trust.  It makes me hopeful for the future.

Great find, should have mentioned that before.

Agreed.  Did you watch all the videos?  Some were long...but they are all very impressive.   Intelligence is becoming fashionable again...who knew?  ;)
